As we approach the end of 2024, our footwear sub-industry sector, with approximately 5,000 companies operating in it, is feeling quite weary due to increasing imports and rising costs. Despite all the challenges, we continue to work and produce for our country and our people. The year 2024 has been a difficult one for every industry. The current conditions may not fit the definition of a depression, but it could be more accurately described as a period of crisis. Periodic depressions or crises often bring structural issues to the surface, which, when addressed and solutions are implemented, lead to significant changes. Afterward, a more stable period follows. The key point is to understand how what we are experiencing today will carry us into tomorrow. Current regulations penalize business growth, while tax practices cause businesses to remain small. Turkish industry must now address its structural problems and resolve them in a way that allows integration into the global world. For this, a change in mindset is required.Guided by the principle that %u201cregardless of the social system, development does not waste time,%u201d we continue to work tirelessly for the advancement of our industry and the removal of obstacles in its path. For this reason, we have prepared the 71st AYSAF Fair to set many new milestones. We are launching the 71st AYSAF Fair with a Green Fair concept, marking a significant step in sustainability. As global climate change impacts every corner of our planet, we, together with our fair organization partner, Artkim, are transforming our approach to exhibitions by placing sustainability at the core of all our processes. Through this step, we will not only enable our participants to achieve their business goals but also fulfill their environmental responsibilities. We continue to implement innovative solutions aimed at reducing our carbon footprint at the fair, focusing on energy efficiency, waste management, and eco-friendly practices.With the participation of graduates and students from schools and universities that train qualified personnel for our sector and related sub-sectors, we have organized a special project titled %u201cDESIGNING TO THE CORE%u201d This project aims to bring together our graduates with our industry, and through our encounters with talented young people, we will move toward better and more innovative work together. Our AYSAF Talks event will once again host esteemed speakers who will share diverse perspectives, entrepreneurial stories, and insights into the world we will face in the future. In addition, we will hold a ceremony to honor those who have dedicated their lives to our industry, demonstrating our respect and ensuring they are not forgotten. As AYSAD, with just a short time left in 2024, we will continue working and producing for this country without giving up, much like the %u201cCrazy Turks%u201d referenced in Turgut %u00d6zakman%u2019s book.
